Amazon.es to Expand its Operations
Amazon has committed to expand its present workforce of 18,000 to 25,000 in Spain by 2025.
In an official statement, Mariangela Marseglia, VP and Country Manager, Amazon.es, has said that apart from expanding its workforce in the country, Amazon.es has plans to train 50,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs to sell online in Spain before the end of 2025.
Notably, The eCommerce giant Amazon has a strong presence in Spain and is a popular online shopping destination for customers in the country. Launched in the year 2011, Amazon.es offers a similar shopping experience as Amazon's other marketplaces worldwide. Spanish customers love fast delivery, competitive prices, and a customer service team that can assist with any issues or questions and other offerings to delight the customer that are a hallmark of Amazon marketplaces across the world.
Since its launch, Amazon’s investment has crossed €10.5 billion in its Spanish operations. The online retailer invested over €3.7 billion in the country in 2021 to expand and improve its services, supporting over 12,000 small and medium size businesses that sell on Amazon.es and Amazon.com. The company has around 40 facilities throughout Spain, including operations and corporate offices.

Amazon is one of the top 15 companies with the highest number of employees in the country. It hired 11,000 new permanent employees in the past two years. Amazon now has a total of 18,000 permanent employees in Spain. In 2021 and 2022, the company was recogized as one of Spain's top employers.
Apart from expanding its operations, Amazon.es has become the largest corporate buyer of renewable energy in Spain. The company runs 15 renewable projects in the country and has ambitious plans to run all of its business on renewable energy by 2025.
