In a highly anticipated announcement, Amazon has officially announced that its 10th annual Prime Day shopping event will take place on July 16-17, 2024. The announcement was made in an official blog. Amazon said that Prime members will have exclusive access to millions of deals across over 35 product categories during the 48-hour event.

Deals Drop Every 5 Minutes, Invite-Only Deals Return
According to the official blog, new deals will launch as frequently as every 5 minutes during select periods of Prime Day. Amazon advises Prime members to check back often to find the best discounts on items they love. Invite-only deals, where Prime members can request an invitation for exclusive offers on popular products, will also be featured again this year. Top invite-only deals include up to 40% off Sony wireless headphones and 30% off Peloton products.

Huge Savings for Prime Members
"Prime Day is a celebration of the value we bring to members all year long, and features millions of deals across more than 35 product categories as well as discounts on Amazon devices, quality entertainment, groceries, travel, and more during the event," said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime.

"In fact, over the course of last year, Amazon customers saved nearly $24 billion from deals and coupons—with Prime members enjoying the vast majority of those savings—including over $2.5 billion during Prime Day 2023", Ghani added.

According to Amazon, Prime Day 2023 saw Prime members purchase over 375 million items worldwide, saving over $2.5 billion on millions of deals across Amazon stores. This milestone marked the biggest Prime Day event in Amazon's history. Additionally, Amazon achieved a new record by delivering to Prime members at the fastest speeds throughout the year.

The company recently announced that this year's Prime Day sale will take place in 18 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the U.S., and the U.K.

Prime Day offers a huge opportunity for sellers on Amazon's marketplace to boost sales and attract new customers by participating in the event with compelling deals. The massive influx of Prime member traffic and buzz around the event allows sellers to gain exposure and move inventory quickly.

How Much Does a Prime Membership Cost?
An Amazon Prime membership is priced at $139 per year or $14.99 per month, offering substantial value through its extensive range of benefits. For those looking for discounted options, Amazon provides several tiers to accommodate different needs. College students can use Prime Student, which costs $69 per year or $7.49 monthly, delivering the same benefits at a reduced rate. Additionally, customers receiving qualifying government assistance can subscribe to Prime Access for just $6.99 monthly, making the array of Prime services more accessible.

As Amazon gears up for its 10th Prime Day celebration, the event promises to be a boon for both sellers and shoppers alike. With exclusive deals, invite-only offers, and a wealth of discounts across a vast product selection, Prime members can expect to find unbeatable savings. At the same time, sellers can leverage the event to drive increased visibility and sales for their brands.
