Amazon Broadens Beauty Range Across Europe
E-commerce Giant Opens Its First Italian Store and Extends Online Personal Care Offerings
Amazon is making a significant move into Europe's beauty and personal care sector by expanding its online range throughout major European markets and opening its first-ever physical beauty store in Italy. The update, shared by Amazon in an official blog post, highlights the company's commitment to offering a broader selection of beauty products, coupled with hands-on services at its new Milan location.
Europe's Beauty Market Expansion
With this latest plan, Amazon aims to introduce an even wider array of beauty and personal care items across its online stores in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom over the coming year. By doing so, the retail giant seeks to address the varied preferences and demands of customers in these diverse markets.
"We're thrilled to announce the opening of Amazon Parafarmacia & Beauty in Milan, a physical store that further enhances and innovates our customers' shopping experience featuring a curated selection of beauty and personal care products," said Giorgio Busnelli, Vice President of Amazon's Consumer Goods in Europe. "Thanks to this opening, we will be able to expand our online beauty and personal care product offerings across Amazon’s stores in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK throughout the year. This broadened selection reflects our dedication to meet the diverse needs of our customers, both at our physical store in Milan and online in Europe."

First Physical Store in Italy
Located in Milan's city centre at Piazzale Cadorna, 4, the new Amazon Parafarmacia & Beauty store is designed to offer both an immersive and convenient retail experience. From Monday to Friday, doors open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m., while weekend hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The opening, slated for February 12, provides Italian and visiting customers with an easily accessible hub for exploring an assortment of well-known brands such as Eucerin, La Roche-Posay, and CeraVe.
New In-Store Features and Expert Services
Shoppers can expect modern features, including interactive 'Place & Learn Stations' that display in-depth product information on digital screens as soon as an item is placed on a designated tray. In a dedicated "derma bar," customers receive complimentary digital skin analyses to identify their unique skin type and needs, followed by personalized product recommendations from on-site beauty experts. Additionally, a specialized section allows visitors to purchase over-the-counter medications and para-pharmaceutical items, with trained pharmacists on hand to offer professional guidance.
Amazon's expanded presence promises clear advantages for both customers and sellers. By offering a more extensive selection of personal care products online, consumers gain convenient access to a variety of trusted brands without leaving home. Meanwhile, sellers benefit from a broader customer base and enhanced visibility on Amazon's robust platform. The new Milan store similarly merges technological innovation with hands-on support, allowing customers to try and learn about products in a personalized setting—an experience that online shopping alone cannot fully replicate.
Amazon's foray into Europe's beauty market underscores the growing importance of personalized, tech-driven shopping experiences that cater to a range of customer preferences. The combination of a physical retail presence and an expanded online catalogue positions the company to meet the evolving demands of modern consumers. As the year progresses, customers across Europe can look forward to browsing an ever-broadening selection of beauty and personal care products. At the same time, sellers stand to gain fresh opportunities to connect with audiences in these five key markets.
