Amazon has announced on Seller Central that sellers based in Korea who operate in the US, Canada or Mexico marketplaces can now receive their earnings directly in Korean won. This change is powered by Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers, an optional service that automatically converts payouts from more than 20 currencies into KRW. The update aims to make payments faster, simpler and more cost-effective for Korean sellers.

Direct KRW deposits now available
With this update, sellers no longer need to rely on third-party currency conversion services or handle manual transfers. Funds will be deposited straight into a Korean bank account in local currency, reducing delays and potential exchange rate risks.

How to set up your account
1. Go to Deposit Methods in your Seller Central account.
2. Select Add new deposit method.
3. Enter your Korean bank account details and click Set deposit method.
4. Assign your Korean bank account as the default deposit method for your US, Canada and Mexico stores.

Benefits for sellers
- Faster access to funds without waiting for international transfers
- Clearer financial records with all payouts in KRW
- Reduced dependency on external payment services
- Transparent exchange rates and fees visible in Seller Central reports

Additional considerations
Sellers are encouraged to confirm that their bank supports incoming KRW deposits from Amazon. It is also advisable to review Amazon’s currency conversion fees and monitor payout details regularly. Those selling in other regions can explore similar local currency options where available.

This Seller Central update is a significant step for Korean sellers trading in North America. By enabling direct KRW deposits through Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers, Amazon is helping sellers save time, reduce costs and simplify their payment process. Setting up the new deposit method can ensure smoother cash flow and better financial control.
