Amazon India has officially launched its new fulfillment center in Tamil Nadu today, March 30, 2026, marking a key upgrade in its logistics network. The announcement, made earlier on Seller Central, now comes into force with immediate operational changes. Alongside the launch, sellers are required to complete GST registration updates today to avoid disruptions in inventory handling and order fulfillment.
SCJY goes live, SCJF operations end
As per the Seller Central update, the new fulfillment center SCJY is now operational and has fully replaced the earlier SCJF facility.
From today, SCJF has ceased all operations, including inbound shipments and customer order processing. Sellers must now route all inventory to SCJY, located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, which is expected to improve delivery efficiency across South India.

GST update deadline effective today
Amazon has made it clear that March 30, 2026 is the final deadline for sellers to update their GST registration certificates to include SCJY as an additional place of business.
With the deadline now in effect, sellers who have not completed the update may begin facing consequences, including:
i) Removal orders for unsold inventory stored at SCJF
ii) Potential tax authority actions due to GST non-compliance
iii) Disruptions in fulfillment and order processing
GST compliance is now mandatory for any further inventory movement or operations through the new facility.
Inventory transfer underway for compliant sellers
For sellers who have successfully updated their GST details and completed verification requirements, Amazon has started transferring sellable inventory from SCJF to SCJY.
The company has confirmed that this transfer is being carried out at no cost to sellers. Once completed, sellers can continue normal operations and begin sending fresh inventory directly to SCJY.
Strategic boost for South India deliveries
The launch of SCJY in Coimbatore is a strategic move by Amazon to strengthen its regional fulfillment capabilities. The location offers strong connectivity and is expected to support faster deliveries across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and nearby markets.
For sellers, this transition can result in:
a) Faster delivery timelines in southern states
b) Better inventory positioning for regional demand
c) Improved performance during high-demand periods
However, these advantages depend on timely compliance and smooth transition to the new facility.
Immediate action required for non-compliant sellers
Sellers who have not yet completed the GST update must act urgently. Delays beyond today could lead to forced inventory removals and operational disruptions.
Key steps include:
i) Updating GST registration to include SCJY
ii) Completing all required documentation and verification on Seller Central
iii) Ceasing all shipments to SCJF
iv) Planning inventory replenishment to SCJY
Amazon has advised sellers to contact their account managers or use the official compliance email for support.
With the new fulfillment center now live, Amazon’s logistics upgrade in Tamil Nadu has entered a critical phase. While the move promises faster deliveries and improved efficiency, it also places immediate compliance responsibility on sellers. Those who have completed the required GST updates can expect a seamless transition, while others must act quickly today to avoid disruptions and potential financial implications.
