Amazon rolls out AI bulk listing tool for sellers

New seller central update lets professional sellers turn spreadsheets into ready draft listings

Amazon has introduced a new ai powered feature on its Seller Central platform that helps professional sellers create high quality product listings in bulk from spreadsheets. The update, titled “Quickly create high quality listings in bulk with ai”, aims to save time for high volume sellers and improve the quality and consistency of product detail pages that shoppers see on Amazon. The announcement has been posted inside Seller Central and is targeted at professional sellers who manage large catalogues and prefer using flat files or custom spreadsheets for listing creation.

Ai support for bulk spreadsheet uploads
Until now, Amazon’s generative ai listing tools were mainly used when creating or editing single listings. With this update, the same technology now works with catalog spreadsheets, so sellers can generate titles, bullet points and descriptions across many products at once. Amazon says that more than 1.3 million sellers have already used its ai listing tools and that these tools can now generate over 70 per cent of the required product attributes for a listing. For busy catalog teams, this can reduce manual typing, cut down on repetitive work and speed up listing creation for both new and existing assortments.

How the new bulk ai flow works
According to the Seller Central update, the new workflow is built around the existing spreadsheet listing process. Sellers need to go to Add products in Seller Central and choose the Spreadsheet option. They can either use an Amazon beta product spreadsheet or upload their own custom format.

If they use an Amazon format catalog spreadsheet, they will see a toggle called Try ai generated content. Turning this on opts them in to using ai for listing creation. If they upload a custom spreadsheet, they will be opted in automatically and will need to confirm their spreadsheet details before moving ahead.

After uploading and confirming the file, sellers select Submit products. Amazon’s ai system will then generate draft content based on the information in the sheet. Sellers are asked to review, edit and approve the suggested titles, bullet points and descriptions before sending the listings for creation. Once the review is complete, sellers submit their drafts and the listings are created on the marketplace.

Works even with basic product data
One of the main points in the Seller Central note is that the ai tool can work even if the spreadsheet only contains basic information such as product names and SKUs. In that case, the system will still attempt to generate detailed draft listings.

However, Amazon clearly states that the more information a seller includes in the spreadsheet, the better and more accurate the ai generated content will be. Fields like brand, key features, material, dimensions, colour, target audience and use cases give the model more context and usually result in listings that need fewer manual edits.

Benefits for sellers
For sellers, the biggest gains are speed and consistency. Teams that used to create or clean up listings one by one can now push entire groups of products through a single ai assisted workflow.

The feature can be especially useful when:

• Onboarding new catalogues from suppliers using basic Excel or CSV files.
• Migrating listings from other platforms into Amazon.
• Refreshing older listings with improved content at scale.

Because the content arrives as drafts, brand owners and content managers retain full control. They can apply their own style, add compliance wording where required and adjust keywords before the listing goes live.

Potential advantages for shoppers
If widely adopted, this update could also benefit shoppers. Better structured titles, clearer bullet points and complete descriptions make it easier for customers to understand what they are buying. More complete attributes can also improve search and filter performance, helping shoppers discover the right size, colour or variant faster. Over time, that can translate into fewer returns, less confusion at checkout and higher satisfaction for both buyers and sellers.

Best practices and points of caution
Amazon’s announcement still expects sellers to treat ai output as a starting point, not a final answer. Sellers are advised to:
• Carefully review every draft listing before submitting.
• Check that claims are accurate and comply with category and local regulations.
• Make sure brand names, model numbers and technical details are correct.
• Confirm that any safety, age or usage information is properly included where needed.

Sellers should also ensure that the language reflects their brand and that key search terms are present in titles and bullet points, within Amazon’s style and policy limits.

Useful next steps for sellers
To get the most from the new tool, professional sellers can start by testing it on a small batch of products. This allows them to understand the type of content the ai generates and to build internal guidelines for reviewers.

Larger brands and agencies may want to create internal templates for spreadsheet columns, so that attributes are standardised across teams and suppliers. This will help the ai model produce more stable and predictable outputs for every upload.

With the “Quickly create high quality listings in bulk with ai” update on Seller Central, Amazon is pushing its generative ai tools deeper into everyday catalog operations. For professional sellers, the feature offers a way to convert simple spreadsheets into ready to review listings, potentially saving hours of manual work on large catalogues.

At the same time, Amazon is keeping humans firmly in the loop by routing all ai generated content through a review stage. If sellers combine this new bulk ai workflow with strong internal checks and clear product data, the result could be faster listing creation, more informative detail pages and a smoother shopping experience for customers across Amazon’s marketplaces.
