With this update, customers can now submit a simple star rating for their experience with a seller, making the feedback process much faster. While customers still have the option to add written feedback, many are expected to choose the new, simpler method. Amazon’s initial tests show that this change encourages more customers—especially those who had a positive experience but wouldn’t have written a review—to leave feedback. As a result, sellers could see an increase in their average ratings.

Extra Steps for Low Ratings
To help ensure fairness, customers who wish to leave a rating below four stars must select a reason before submitting their feedback. Amazon will review these reasons and remove any that are not related to seller performance, such as dissatisfaction with a product. This step aims to prevent sellers from being rated unfairly for issues outside their control.
Automatic Protection from Abusive Feedback
Amazon has also strengthened its system to detect and remove abusive feedback automatically. Sellers do not need to take action if inappropriate comments are found. However, if a seller feels that a rating is abusive and it has not been removed automatically, they can request a review through the Report a Violation option.
