Amazon has invited sellers to attend a new live training session on Amazon Global Logistics, positioning it as a practical learning opportunity for those looking to improve cross-border shipping into major Amazon marketplaces. The announcement was made on Seller Central under the title “Webinar: Get started with Amazon Global Logistics,” where Amazon said the session will cover account setup, end-to-end logistics flow, and available ocean and air transport options.

According to the Seller Central update, the live demo is scheduled for March 18 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time and is aimed at sellers of all levels. Amazon said the webinar will explain how to set up an Amazon Global Logistics account and streamline cross-border shipping from China or Vietnam to fulfillment centers across the US, EU, and Japan. The company also said a Q and A session will be included, and all registrants will receive a copy of the webinar recording and presentation by email.

Why this matters for sellers
The update is significant because logistics remains one of the biggest pressure points for marketplace sellers, especially those managing imported inventory. Amazon describes AGL as part of its broader Supply Chain by Amazon offering and says the service is designed as a door-to-door ocean and air freight transportation programme. On its official programme pages, Amazon says sellers can use AGL to send inventory directly from China and Vietnam into Fulfillment by Amazon and Amazon Warehousing and Distribution, with competitive rates and a more integrated shipping flow into Amazon’s network.

What sellers are likely to learn
Amazon’s own event listing says the session will include step-by-step AGL account setup guidance, an overview of ocean and air transportation options, expert answers to seller questions, and a clear roadmap of what happens after onboarding. In a related Amazon forum post, the company also described AGL as its 100 percent owned end-to-end logistics solution and said sellers can use it to move goods from China directly into the Amazon fulfillment network in the US, UK, EU, and Japan, and from Vietnam to the US.

The webinar is likely to be most useful for sellers who source from China, Hong Kong, or Vietnam and sell through FBA in the US, Europe, Japan, or the UK. It should also interest sellers trying to reduce friction between factory dispatch and Amazon inbound placement, especially if they want more control over shipment booking, tracking, and handoff into Amazon facilities. Amazon says AGL supports direct shipping into fulfillment centers and AWD facilities and is built to give sellers a more streamlined inbound process.

Additional points sellers should keep in mind
For sellers considering AGL after the webinar, there are a few practical checks to make early. Amazon says newly onboarded sellers may qualify for an 8 percent discount on base ocean freight rates for 60 days after onboarding, subject to terms and conditions. Amazon also notes in its help guidance that shipments into the US through AGL require a customs bond on behalf of the importer of record, meaning sellers should be ready with compliance and documentation before booking freight.

A wider push from Amazon
The webinar also appears to be part of a broader Amazon effort to deepen seller use of its logistics stack. On its selling programmes page, Amazon places AGL alongside Supply Chain by Amazon, AWD and other fulfilment tools, suggesting that the company wants sellers to use more of its integrated inbound and storage services rather than relying on fragmented outside arrangements. Amazon has also scheduled a follow-up Ask Amazon forum event on March 19 for sellers who cannot attend the webinar live but still want to raise questions directly with the AGL team.

For sellers, the core takeaway is simple. This is not just another informational webinar. It is a timely guide for businesses that want to improve how inventory moves from sourcing markets into Amazon’s fulfilment system. Sellers who attend can better understand setup steps, shipping lanes, cost considerations and compliance needs before peak restocking periods. That can help them make faster logistics decisions, avoid onboarding mistakes and use Amazon’s own freight network more effectively where it fits their business.
