Amazon has announced stricter compliance requirements for product testing documentation, effective from July 13. According to a recent announcement on Seller Central, the new rules mandate that sellers must provide compliance test results only from approved laboratories that meet Amazon's rigorous safety standards.

Why the Change?
This update aims to ensure accuracy in product compliance testing, significantly enhancing customer safety. Amazon's continuous review found inconsistencies in test results from some laboratories, prompting this decision to streamline and standardize compliance documentation.

Checking Laboratory Compliance
To help sellers comply, Amazon has released a regularly updated list of laboratories whose test results will no longer be accepted. Sellers are encouraged to consult this list proactively to prevent rejection of their compliance documentation.

How to Find Approved Labs
Amazon provides easy access to verified and approved laboratories through its Service Provider Network, a dedicated resource on Seller Central. Utilizing approved labs ensures smoother document review processes and prevents potential disruptions in product listings and sales.

Consequences of Non-compliance
Documents from laboratories flagged as non-compliant will be automatically rejected during Amazon’s review process. This can result in delays or suspension of product listings, directly affecting seller performance and customer satisfaction.

Sellers are advised to immediately review the updated lab compliance criteria on Seller Central, ensuring all future documentation adheres strictly to the new standards. Amazon recommends frequent checking of the compliance list updates to stay informed about any new changes.

Amazon’s tightening of compliance requirements emphasizes its ongoing commitment to customer safety and product quality assurance. Sellers must act promptly to align their compliance practices, using approved labs listed on Seller Central to maintain seamless selling experiences and customer trust.
