In an official announcement on Seller Central, Amazon UK has detailed important updates to its European programme policies, set to take effect from October 2, 2024. Amazon says that the changes are aimed at improving transparency and communication with sellers which include adjustments to key policies and clarifications of contractual obligations.

Key Policy Updates
Renaming of Funds Withholding Policy
One of the most notable changes is the renaming of the Funds Withholding policy to the Funds Disbursement Eligibility policy. This update aims to provide greater transparency regarding the reasons behind fund withholding, the appeals process for disbursements following account deactivation, and the criteria for evaluating such appeals. Sellers will now have a clearer understanding of activities that could lead to a decision against fund disbursement in accordance with the Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions Agreement.

Clarification of Partnered Carrier Terms
The terms and agreements related to Amazon Partnered Carrier for Germany will also be updated. These changes will clarify the roles of all parties involved, ensuring that sellers have a better grasp of their responsibilities and those of Amazon in shipping logistics.

Centralized Access to Policies
Amazon will add existing policies to a centralized programme policies page to further assist sellers. This initiative consolidates contractual obligations between sellers and Amazon in one accessible location.

No Change to Seller Rights
Amazon has reassured sellers that these updates, especially the consolidation of policies, are for clarification purposes only. There are no alterations to existing rights or obligations, and the changes will help sellers better navigate Amazon's platform.

i) Order Performance programme policy
ii) Amazon policy on reference prices
iii) Recalls and product safety
iv) FBA customer returns
v) FBA Dangerous Goods programme terms and conditions
ii) FBA lost and damaged inventory reimbursement policy

These updates reflect Amazon's continued efforts to maintain clear communication and improve the experience for European sellers. The e-commerce giant is reinforcing its commitment to creating a transparent selling environment by introducing new terminologies and consolidating essential policies. Sellers are encouraged to review the updated policies on Seller Central ahead of the effective date of October 2, 2024. As always, staying informed about updates on Seller Central is crucial for maintaining a successful selling strategy on Amazon.
