Amazon's new feature lets customers check product recalls and safety alerts in one place
Amazon has announced a new feature that will make it easier for customers to access product recalls and safety information for items they purchased in its store. The new page, called “Your Recalls and Product Safety Alerts”, will show customers personalized notifications about potential safety hazards, as well as options to get a refund, return, or repair the affected products.
In an official blog, Amazon said that it always proactively notifies customers about product recalls and safety alerts via email, but now customers will also have a dedicated location to view these communications in one place. Customers will see an alert banner on top of their “Your orders” page, which will link to their personal “Your Recalls and Product Safety Alerts” page for more details.
It added that the new feature is part of Amazon's commitment to a safe and trustworthy shopping experience and that it aims to directly reach 100% of customers who have bought a recalled product in its store. The company also said that it has a rigorous seller vetting process, product safety and compliance verification, and an expanded A-to-Z Guarantee to protect customers from defective or fraudulent products.
Additionally, Amazon’s selling partners in the U.S. can opt into the Recalls Logistics Service (RLS), which allows Amazon to issue refunds on behalf of the selling partner and manage return logistics in case of a recall.
The new page is currently available for customers in the U.S., and Amazon plans to roll it out to other countries in the future. Amazon believes that with more such innovative features, anyone can shop on Amazon with confidence and all products meet their expectations.
