Brand Tailored Promotions: A New Way for Sellers to Increase Sales and Loyalty on Amazon
Amazon has introduced a new feature that enables sellers to create personalized promotions for their products and target them to specific customers based on their shopping behavior. The feature, called Brand Tailored Promotions, is aimed at helping sellers increase their sales and brand loyalty, as well as to compete with other online platforms that offer similar services.
In an official blog, Amazon said that this feature is available to all brand owners who are enrolled in the Brand Registry operating in Amazon’s U.S. store. The company plans to introduce this new tool to sellers in Europe, Japan, Canada, and Mexico soon.
Brand Tailored Promotions are available for sellers who are enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry and have a Storefront. They can create various types of promotions, such as percentage off, buy one get one free, or free shipping, and set the eligibility criteria, duration, and budget for each promotion. For example, a seller can offer a 10% discount to customers who have viewed their products in the past 30 days, or a free gift to customers who have purchased from their brand in the past 90 days.
Sellers can also track the performance of their promotions using metrics such as impressions, clicks, orders, and sales. They can also compare the results of different promotions and optimize their strategies accordingly. Amazon says that Brand Tailored Promotions can help sellers boost their conversion rates, repeat purchases, and customer retention.
With Brand Tailored Promotions, sellers can create promotional codes that target specific segments of Amazon customers based on six criteria:
- Brand Followers: Customers who have followed your brand in Amazon's store by clicking the follow button.
- Repeat Customers: Customers who have bought your brand's products more than once in the past year.
- Recent Customers: Customers who have made a purchase from your brand recently.
- High-Spend Customers: Customers who have spent the most money on your brand's products in the past year.
- Potential New Customers: Customers who have shown interest in your brand and products by clicking or adding to cart, but have not bought anything from your brand in the past year.
- Cart Abandoners: Customers who have left one or more of your brand's products in their cart without buying them in the past three months.
The feature is part of Amazon’s efforts to provide more tools and resources for sellers to grow their businesses on its platform. Benjamin Hartman, Vice President, North America Marketplace at Amazon said that sellers will learn more about Brand Tailored Promotions at Accelerate 2023, Amazon’s premier conference for selling partners which is scheduled in Seattle on September 13-14, 2023.
