eBay Announces 50 Winners of Up & Running Grants for Small Businesses
eBay, the global e-commerce platform, has announced the winners of its fourth annual Up & Running Grants, a program that supports small businesses in the U.S. with funds, training and mentorship.
The program was launched in 2020 to help small businesses overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and create economic opportunity for all. Since then, eBay has selected 50 U.S. sellers annually to each receive $10,000, plus access to online learning content, expert coaching and business equipment.
In an official press release, Adam Ireland, GM and VP, eBay U.S said, "For nearly three decades, eBay has been supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, helping people turn their passions into economic opportunity," He added that Up & Running Grant underscores eBay's commitment to helping small businesses thrive.
The 50 grant recipients for 2023 were chosen from thousands of applications, based on their business vision, social impact and community involvement. They represent a diverse range of products and services, such as sneakers, books, bikes, coins, comics, fashion, seeds, postcards and more.

The Up & Running Grants program is an annual initiative by eBay that supports entrepreneurs with funds, training and mentorship. The program was launched in 2020 to help small businesses thrive online amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Every year, eBay selects 50 sellers from over 50,000 applicants who share their business vision and growth plans. Each winner receives $10,000 in cash, direct training, Q&A sessions and mentorship from top eBay sellers, and access to eBay Academy — eBay's e-learning platform. All applicants also get access to mentorship and resources on Hello Alice, a free, multichannel platform that helps businesses launch and grow.

eBay’s small businesses benefit from eBay’s economic opportunity and empowerment. eBay’s 2023 Small Business Report shows that 95% of eBay sellers attribute their business success to eBay, while 79% of sellers say that eBay helps small businesses and entrepreneurs to flourish. Since 2020, Up & Running Grant recipients – who sell various products, such as collectibles, fashion, and sporting goods – have used grant funds to invest in key areas of their businesses, such as buying new equipment and inventory or hiring and training staff.
