At eBay OPEN25, the company's largest in-person seller event since 2019, eBay announced a suite of new tools designed to help sellers work more efficiently, make smarter pricing decisions, and deliver a better buyer experience. The launch coincides with eBay's 30th anniversary, marking a new chapter in its focus on technology, trust, and partnership with sellers.

AI assistant for faster buyer replies
To help sellers manage high volumes of messages, eBay is rolling out an AI Assistant for Messaging in the U.S. and U.K. This opt-in tool drafts suggested responses to common buyer questions using existing listing and order details. Sellers can review, edit, or dismiss these AI-generated replies, ensuring accuracy while saving time.

Seamless price negotiations in messaging
With "Offers in Messaging," buyers and sellers can now negotiate prices directly in the chat thread. Available on both mobile and web in the U.S., this feature eliminates the need to switch screens, allowing offers, counteroffers, and acceptances to happen in one place.

Smarter cost tracking for better pricing decisions
A new optional "Your cost" field in the listing flow lets sellers track item-level costs without spreadsheets. Costs can be updated anytime and linked to the Seller Hub's earnings page for more informed decisions on pricing, promotions, and ad rates. This feature will roll out to U.S. sellers this fall.

AI-powered inventory mapping for high-volume sellers
The Inventory Mapping API uses AI to generate optimised titles, item specifics, and descriptions from minimal inputs like images and product identifiers. This tool, designed for large inventory management, will be available to select U.S. sellers in the coming weeks.

Stronger seller protections for delivery delays
Starting October, if sellers ship on time with eBay labels and tracking but a delivery delay leads to an "Item Not Received" refund, eBay will reimburse the item cost if tracking later confirms delivery. Negative or neutral feedback related to the delay will also be removed.

Automatic positive feedback to boost trust
From September, if a tracked order is delivered on time and without issues, eBay will automatically leave positive feedback for the seller if the buyer hasn't done so. This ensures sellers' reliability is publicly visible, even when buyers don't leave feedback.
