Etsy is set to revise its Regulatory Operating Fee in several international markets from June 22, 2026, with UK sellers among those facing a higher charge on orders.

For sellers in the United Kingdom, the Regulatory Operating Fee will increase from 0.32 percent to 0.48 percent. The fee is charged on the total order amount, including the listing price, postage and any additional charges such as gift wrapping or personalisation paid by the buyer.

The change may look small in percentage terms, but for sellers with regular order volumes, low-margin products, or high shipping costs, it can gradually affect overall profitability. UK-based Etsy sellers may now need to review their pricing, postage strategy and profit margins before the revised fee comes into effect.

What is changing for UK sellers
From June 22, 2026, UK sellers will pay a Regulatory Operating Fee of 0.48 percent instead of the current 0.32 percent. The revised fee will appear as a separate line item in the seller’s Payment account.

The fee is part of Etsy’s country-specific regulatory cost structure. The company uses such fees to cover the cost of complying with local rules and regulatory requirements in different markets.

In its update, Etsy said the revised rates will apply “Starting on June 22, 2026.”

Country-wise changes from June 22, 2026
France: The fee will increase from 0.47 percent to 1.14 percent
Hungary: A new Regulatory Operating Fee of 1.97 percent will apply
India: The fee will decrease from 0.29 percent to 0.05 percent
Italy: The fee will increase from 0.32 percent to 0.80 percent
Spain: The fee will increase from 0.72 percent to 0.88 percent
Türkiye: The fee will decrease from 2.27 percent to 1.67 percent
UK: The fee will increase from 0.32 percent to 0.48 percent

France and Hungary see sharper impact
Among the listed markets, France will see a major increase, with the fee rising from 0.47 percent to 1.14 percent. Hungary will also become a significant addition to Etsy’s regulatory fee structure, with a new fee of 1.97 percent.

Italy and Spain will also see increases, though at different levels. Italy’s fee will rise from 0.32 percent to 0.80 percent, while Spain’s will move from 0.72 percent to 0.88 percent.

India and Türkiye get relief
Unlike the UK and several European markets, India and Türkiye will see a reduction in the Regulatory Operating Fee. For Indian sellers, the fee will come down sharply from 0.29 percent to just 0.05 percent. In Türkiye, the fee will reduce from 2.27 percent to 1.67 percent.

This means the impact of Etsy’s update will vary widely depending on the seller’s registered shop location. Sellers operating across multiple markets, or those tracking international marketplace costs, should carefully note the country-wise changes.

Why sellers should pay attention
For Etsy sellers, even small marketplace fee changes matter because they directly influence net earnings. The revised fee may require sellers to recalculate product pricing, shipping charges and promotional discounts.

The update also highlights how ecommerce platforms are increasingly adjusting fees based on regulatory costs in different countries. For UK sellers, the increase from 0.32 percent to 0.48 percent may not appear dramatic, but it adds another cost layer at a time when many small businesses are already dealing with rising packaging, logistics and advertising expenses.

For now, sellers do not need to take any technical action. However, reviewing margins before June 22 would be a practical step. Sellers who depend on slim profits should check whether the revised fee can be absorbed or whether minor pricing adjustments are needed.
