FBA Sellers to Specify Delivery Window While Sending Goods to Amazon
The e-commerce giant Amazon has announced a new requirement for its third-party selling partners who use its Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service. From April 24 to May 2, 2023, sellers must specify a delivery window when creating a shipment using Send to Amazon.
A delivery window is an approximate date range for the expected arrival of the inbound shipment at Amazon's fulfillment center. The delivery window will help Amazon expedite the receiving and shipment processes at its warehouses and ensure faster stocking of products.
The new requirement will apply to sellers who choose a non-partnered carrier for small parcels or less-than-truckload shipments. Suppose sellers opt for an Amazon-partnered carrier or Amazon Global Logistics. In that case, they do not need to take any additional action, as the carrier will provide Amazon with the necessary information.
The delivery window will vary depending on the origin and destination of the shipment. For domestic shipments, the delivery window will be seven days, while for cross-border shipments, it will be 14 days. For example, a seller can select a delivery window of August 1-14 for a shipment from China to the US.
Sellers can modify the shipping details up to the start of the delivery window via the Tracking details section on Send to Amazon. Amazon will monitor the shipment performance through the Shipping Queue and notify sellers if their shipment arrives before or after the designated delivery window. This will enable sellers to work with their carriers and provide more accurate estimates for future shipments.
Amazon FBA is a service that allows sellers to outsource order fulfillment to Amazon. Sellers can send products to Amazon's global network of fulfillment centers and offer customers free, two-day shipping through Prime. FBA also handles customer service, returns, and refunds for sellers.
Amazon says that the new delivery window requirement is part of its efforts to improve the FBA experience for sellers and customers. Amazon hopes to reduce delays and errors and increase efficiency and satisfaction by providing more visibility and predictability into the inbound shipment process.
