How much do Americans spend on Amazon each month? A new survey reveals…

Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world, and millions of Americans shop on its platform every month. But how much do they actually spend on the e-commerce site? A new survey by Upgraded Points, a travel rewards website, has shed some light on this question.

The survey, which polled over 3,000 online shoppers across 44 states, indicates how deeply Americans are hooked on the online retail giant. Americans spend an average of $91.75 per month on Amazon, with some states spending more than $120, the survey claims. The survey also uncovers the extent of Amazon's influence on consumer behavior, preferences, and emotions.

"Our goal was to uncover this deep obsession that has become ingrained in our culture," said Alex Miller, Upgraded Points founder. "Amazon has established a significant presence in our daily lives where we not only turn to the platform for discretionary and impulsive spending, but also simple, essential purchases."

The survey also revealed that approximately 25% of Americans shop on Amazon once a week or more, and that nearly a third of Gen Zers (those born between 1997 and 2012) use their parents' Prime memberships to shop online. Additionally, the survey found that the average American spends around $117 on Amazon's Prime Day, a two-day event that offers discounts and deals to Prime members.

This survey offers a glimpse into the strong relationship that Americans have with Amazon, the online retail giant that has become a dominant force in the e-commerce industry. The survey reveals how Amazon influences the spending habits, preferences, and emotions of consumers across the nation, and how some states are more addicted to Amazon than others. The survey also shows how Prime Day, the annual shopping event that offers exclusive deals to Prime members, attracts millions of shoppers who are willing to spend more than they have in savings.
