New Changes in Product Listing Documents on Amazon India - What Sellers Need to Know
By Staff Writer
Amazon India recently announced on Seller Central, dated January 8, 2024, detailing significant updates regarding the types of documents that sellers can upload and edit on their product detail pages. This change, aimed at standardizing product listings and enhancing customer access to product information, involves discontinuing certain document types.
Key Changes and Deadlines
Unsupported Document Types: Starting January 29, 2024, sellers can no longer upload or edit specific document types on their product detail pages. These include 2D CAD, 3D CAD, Application Guide, Brochure, Comparison Chart, Compatibility Guide, FAQ, Size Guide, Specification Sheet, and Product Documentation.
Visibility of Current Documents: Although these document types will become unsupported for new uploads or edits, customers can still view any such documents already present on product detail pages. Sellers will also retain access to these documents in Seller Central for content transfer.
Final Removal Date: On February 26, 2024, Amazon India will remove all unsupported document types from product detail pages and Seller Central.
Recommended Actions for Sellers
Updating Listings: Sellers should visit the 'Manage Product Documents' section in Seller Central before February 26, 2024.
The recommended steps include:
1. Transferring information from unsupported document types to appropriate sections of the product detail page, such as the product description.
2. Re-upload content from unsupported document types into one of the 14 supported document types. For example, content from an 'Application Guide' can be moved to a 'User Guide'.
Additional Resources
Supported Document Types: For a comprehensive list of the 14 supported document types and further guidance, sellers are encouraged to visit the 'About Product Documents' section on Amazon Seller Central.
This move by Amazon India reflects an effort to streamline the online shopping experience for customers, ensuring that product information is easily accessible and consistently presented.
