Shopify, a leading e-commerce platform that powers over 1.7 million businesses worldwide, has announced a new partnership with Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, to offer a new app that will enable US-based Shopify merchants to use Amazon's "Buy with Prime" option, reports Reuters.
Shopify, a leading e-commerce platform that powers over 1.7 million businesses worldwide, has announced a new partnership with Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, to offer a new app that will enable US-based Shopify merchants to use Amazon's "Buy with Prime" option, reports Reuters.
As per information, the app, which will be available in Shopify's app ecosystem, will allow Prime members to enjoy fast and free delivery on products sold by Shopify merchants outside of Amazon.com. This is the first time ever that Prime benefits are extended to products outside of Amazon.com.
To use the app, Shopify merchants will need to have Shopify Payments and use Amazon's fulfillment network. The app will also provide inventory and order management features for the merchants.
Shopify said this partnership will help its merchants reach more customers and boost their sales.
The partnership with Amazon is another milestone for Shopify, which has been competing with Amazon in the e-commerce space. Shopify has been positioning itself as a platform that empowers independent businesses and gives them more control over their brand and customer experience. Shopify has also partnered with other platforms such as Facebook, Google, Walmart, and TikTok to expand its reach and distribution.
The new app is expected to launch in the coming weeks. Shopify merchants who are interested in using the app can sign up for early access on Shopify's website.
