Amazon has announced an important update for sellers operating in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Through an official announcement on Seller Central, the company confirmed that it will remove the separate seller eligibility requirements for the Featured Offer beginning July 20, 2026.
The change is designed to simplify the Featured Offer process without altering the way Amazon chooses which offer is displayed to customers. Existing sellers do not need to take any action, as the update will be applied automatically.
For Amazon sellers across the UK and EU marketplaces, this change could make the Featured Offer process easier to understand while reinforcing the importance of maintaining competitive offers and excellent customer service.

What Is Changing?
Until now, Amazon first determined whether a seller was eligible for the Featured Offer based on predefined seller performance requirements. Only sellers meeting those eligibility standards could have their offers considered for the Featured Offer position.
Starting July 20, 2026, Amazon will eliminate this separate eligibility step for sellers in the UK and EU marketplaces.
According to the announcement published on Seller Central, Amazon has continued improving its internal processes and has taken seller feedback into account before deciding that this additional eligibility requirement is no longer necessary.
No Changes to Featured Offer Selection
Although the eligibility requirement is being removed, Amazon emphasized that the method used to select the Featured Offer itself will remain unchanged.
The Featured Offer will continue to be awarded to the offer that provides the best overall shopping experience for customers. Amazon will still evaluate offers using key factors such as:
i) Competitive pricing
ii) Fast and reliable delivery
iii) Seller performance
iv) Customer-focused service
This means sellers should not assume the change guarantees placement in the Featured Offer. Instead, every offer will continue competing based on overall value and customer experience.
Why This Matters for Sellers
The update simplifies one part of Amazon's Featured Offer process while keeping competition focused on factors that directly benefit customers.
For sellers, this means there is no longer a separate qualification stage before their offers can be evaluated. Instead, Amazon will focus directly on comparing available offers using the same customer-centric criteria it already uses when selecting the Featured Offer.
The change may also reduce confusion among newer sellers who previously had to understand both eligibility requirements and Featured Offer selection criteria.
How Sellers Can Improve Their Chances
Even though the eligibility requirement is disappearing, success will still depend on maintaining strong marketplace performance.
Sellers should continue to focus on:
i) Offering competitive prices.
ii) Maintaining fast shipping and delivery performance.
iii) Keeping order defect rates low.
iv) Providing excellent customer service.
v) Managing inventory effectively to avoid stock shortages.
iv) Using reliable fulfillment options such as Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) or Seller Fulfilled Prime, where appropriate.
Monitoring account health and performance metrics regularly.
The better the customer experience a seller provides, the greater the likelihood that Amazon will select their offer as the Featured Offer.
No Action Required
Amazon has confirmed that sellers do not need to update their accounts or make any manual changes before the policy takes effect. The new approach will automatically apply to eligible marketplaces from July 20, 2026.
Sellers are encouraged to review the updated programme policies available through Seller Central to understand the revised framework.
What This Means for Amazon Sellers
This update reflects Amazon's continuing efforts to simplify marketplace policies while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Rather than relying on a separate seller eligibility gate, Amazon will continue selecting Featured Offers based on the quality and competitiveness of each individual offer.
For sellers in the UK and EU marketplaces, the announcement serves as a reminder that pricing, delivery performance, and customer experience remain the most important factors in winning the Featured Offer. Businesses that consistently deliver excellent service will continue to have the strongest opportunity to secure this valuable placement and increase product visibility and sales.
