Walmart Launches New Feature for Marketplace Sellers to Create and Manage Google Shopping Ads
In order to facilitate sellers to manage their online store promotion, the ecommerce giant Walmart has introduced a new feature that allows them to create and run Google Shopping Ads from within the Walmart Seller Center. This feature will enable sellers to reach more shoppers who are searching for products on Google and drive more traffic to their listings on Walmart.com.
Google Shopping Ads are online ads that show up when people search for products on Google. They display product images, prices, ratings, and other information that help shoppers compare and choose products. Google Shopping Ads can also appear on other Google platforms, such as YouTube, Gmail, and Google Discover.
Previously, Walmart marketplace sellers had to use third-party services or platforms to create and manage their Google Shopping Ads campaigns. This added extra costs and complexity for sellers, who had to deal with multiple interfaces and data sources. With the new feature, sellers can now create and optimize their Google Shopping Ads campaigns directly within the Walmart Seller Center, using the same product data and inventory information that they use for Walmart.com. Sellers can also track the performance and results of their campaigns within the Seller Center dashboard.
According to Walmart, this feature will benefit sellers in several ways. First, it will help sellers increase their visibility and reach more shoppers who are searching for products on Google. Second, it will help sellers leverage Walmart's brand reputation and trust, as shoppers will see that the products are sold by Walmart.com. Third, it will help sellers save time and money, as they will not have to use external services or platforms to create and manage their Google Shopping Ads campaigns.
The new feature is part of Walmart's ongoing efforts to improve its ecommerce platform and offer more opportunities for its marketplace sellers. Last week, Walmart held a seller summit, where it discussed the future and vision of its marketplace platform. Walmart also announced several new initiatives and programs for its sellers, such as expanding its fulfillment network, enhancing its product discovery and recommendation engine, and launching new categories and services.
Walmart's marketplace platform has grown significantly in recent years, as more sellers and customers have joined the platform. According to Walmart, it now has over 100,000 sellers on its marketplace, offering over 85 million products across various categories. Walmart also claims that it has seen a 146% increase in new customers on its ecommerce platform in the past year.
Walmart's new feature for Google Shopping Ads is currently available for select sellers in the US. Walmart plans to roll out the feature to more sellers in the coming months. Sellers who are interested in using the feature can apply through the Walmart Seller Center.
