Amazon has officially unveiled an expansion of benefits under its Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) New Selection program, effective March 1, 2024. This strategic enhancement aims to facilitate an easier and more beneficial process for sellers launching new products on the platform. Below, we detail the key improvements that Amazon sellers can anticipate.

Rebate on Sales

Average 10% Rebate: Amazon continues its commitment to supporting sellers by offering an average 10% rebate on sales of eligible new-to-FBA parent products. Notably, this now includes rebates for eligible non-branded selection.
Expanded Eligibility: The rebate now covers up to 50 units for eligible non-standard size items and up to 100 units for eligible standard-size items, with the rebate period lasting 120 days from the first inventory-received date.

Enhanced Benefits for More Units and Extended Days

Amazon has made significant changes to the benefits for all eligible non-standard size products:
Increased Unit Limits: Storage, liquidation, and rebate benefits are now applicable for up to 50 units per parent ASIN, a noticeable increase from the previously allowed 30 units (excluding apparel and shoes).
Extended Benefit Duration: Storage and rebate benefits duration has been extended to up to 120 days per parent ASIN from the first inventory-received date, up from the previous 90 days (excluding apparel and shoes).

Lowered IPI Score Requirement for Program Eligibility

In an effort to make the FBA New Selection program more accessible, Amazon has lowered the Inventory Performance Index (IPI) score required for eligibility to 300 or higher from the previous requirement of 400. Sellers who have not yet been assigned an IPI score are also encouraged to enroll in the program and enjoy its benefits.

Amazon has promised to announce additional updates to the program, including a discount on Vine enrollment fees later in the year. Sellers are advised to stay tuned for these updates to leverage the full range of benefits offered by the FBA New Selection program.

About FBA New Selection Program
The Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) New Selection Program is designed to support sellers on Amazon by offering a suite of benefits aimed at easing the introduction of new products to the marketplace. This program provides incentives such as rebates on sales, extended storage benefits, and reduced eligibility requirements for the Inventory Performance Index (IPI) score, making it more accessible for a wider range of sellers.

Specifically, it offers an average 10% rebate on sales for eligible new-to-FBA products, including non-branded selections, with expanded eligibility for more units and longer benefit durations. Additionally, the program has reduced the IPI score needed for participation, further lowering the barrier to entry for sellers looking to launch new products.
