Amazon Vine Reviews Program Revamps Pricing Structure to Attract More Brands

Amazon is making changes to its Amazon Vine review program, a platform where brands can get reviews for their products. The program, known as Amazon Vine, is an invitation-only initiative that selects top reviewers from the Amazon store, termed as "Vine Voices". These reviewers get the chance to order items for free and share their experiences with Amazon's customer base, aiding them in making informed purchasing decisions.

New Pricing Tiers
Starting October 19, 2023, Amazon will roll out the following new pricing tiers:
1. $0 Tier: This new tier allows brands to enroll up to 2 units per parent ASIN. In return, they can receive up to 2 high-quality Vine reviews at no cost.
2. $75 Tier: At this price point, brands can enroll up to 10 units per parent ASIN and can expect up to 10 Vine reviews.
These tiers are in addition to the existing $200 tier, where brands can enroll up to 30 units per parent ASIN and secure up to 30 Vine reviews.

However, brands should note that these new fee structures will be applicable only to products that are enrolled in the program on or after October 19. Once a product (ASIN) is registered, it cannot be shifted to a different tier or have child ASINs added.

Benefits for Brands
Amazon emphasizes the potential benefits of the Vine program for brands. By participating, brands can anticipate a boost in sales by up to 30%. Additionally, the program can enhance product discoverability, improve conversion rates, and offer invaluable product insights.

About the Amazon Vine Program
Amazon Vine is an exclusive, invitation-only initiative that handpicks the most insightful reviewers from the Amazon store, known as "Vine Voices". These selected reviewers are given the unique privilege of ordering items without any charge. In return, they share their genuine product experiences, assisting Amazon's vast customer base in making well-informed purchasing decisions.

Seller's Response:
On the 'Seller-Central' platform of Amazon, several sellers voiced their opinions and concerns regarding the new pricing tiers for the Amazon Vine program. One seller highlighted an issue with ASINs that were previously enrolled under a promotional offer, noting that these ASINs become ineligible for re-enrollment in the paid program. Another seller advised caution when considering the free tier, emphasizing that brands can only submit to VINE once. There were also questions raised about the distinction between this program and the prohibited practice of paying for reviews. Some sellers shared their past experiences, mentioning receiving unhelpful reviews from individuals unfamiliar with their products. However, there was also positive feedback, with a seller expressing gratitude for the new pricing tiers, emphasizing its potential benefits for small sellers.

Final Thoughts
With this move, Amazon is clearly signaling its intent to make the Vine program more inclusive, especially for smaller brands with limited budgets. As the e-commerce landscape becomes increasingly competitive, authentic reviews can play a pivotal role in influencing purchasing decisions. Through these changes, Amazon aims to empower more brands to leverage the power of genuine reviews.
