Amazon has once again been recognised as a Top Employer in Europe, marking the third consecutive year the e-commerce giant has received the distinction. The company shared the details in an official blog, outlining how sustained investments in employee well-being, skills development, and workplace safety helped secure the Top Employer 2025 certification across its European business. The recognition was awarded by the Top Employers Institute, a globally respected organisation that evaluates companies through a data-driven assessment of human resources practices.

What the Top Employer certification means
According to Amazon’s official blog, the Top Employer certification is based on a detailed review of areas such as people strategy, work environment, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and employee well-being. The certification covers Amazon’s operations network, corporate offices, customer service centres, and research and development facilities across Europe.

David Plink, Chief Executive Officer of the Top Employers Institute, said the 2025 programme recognises organisations that continue to prioritise their people despite rapid global change. He noted that certified employers demonstrate resilience by consistently investing in employee growth and well-being.

Amazon’s focus on people-first policies
In its blog post, Amazon highlighted that the recognition reflects a long-term commitment to creating meaningful careers. The company combines technology-driven workplaces with competitive pay, benefits, and a strong focus on safety and sustainability. Jorrit Van Der Meulen, Vice President of EU Stores at Amazon, said the third consecutive recognition is an honour that reflects the company’s commitment to supporting employees at every stage of their careers. He added that Amazon offers opportunities ranging from entry-level roles to highly specialised positions, allowing people to grow while positively impacting customers.

Safety and well-being at scale
Workplace safety remains a major focus area. Amazon stated that it invested 750 million dollars globally in 2024 alone to improve safety standards. The company aims to be the safest workplace within the industries it operates in, supported by more than 9,000 safety professionals worldwide. This investment is particularly relevant for shoppers who are increasingly interested in how large e-commerce companies treat their workforce. Safer workplaces often translate into more reliable operations, faster deliveries, and improved service quality.

Skills, training, and future-ready jobs
Amazon’s Career Choice programme was also highlighted in the blog. The initiative pre-pays up to 8,000 euros over four years for nationally recognised courses, helping employees prepare for future job needs. In 2024, the programme marked its 10th anniversary in Europe, with more than 25 new courses added, including mechatronics and machine learning. The company has also pledged to provide free AI skills training to two million people globally by 2025, underlining its focus on preparing workers for an AI-driven future.

Technology and job creation
Since 2019, Amazon has invested over 700 million euros in robotics and AI-powered technologies across its European fulfilment centres. These tools are designed to support employees, improve safety, reduce packaging waste, and create new upskilling opportunities. Stefano Perego, Vice President of International Operations and Global Ops Services, said the recognition reinforces Amazon’s efforts to innovate how it supports and empowers its teams. He noted that the dedication of employees across Europe continues to shape positive career outcomes.

As shared in its official blog, Amazon’s Top Employer 2025 recognition reflects more than a workplace award. For shoppers, it signals a company investing heavily in people, safety, and innovation behind the scenes. As consumer awareness grows around ethical employment and sustainable operations, Amazon’s people-first approach is becoming an increasingly important part of its broader brand story in Europe.
