Amazon has announced on Seller Central that its Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) service now allows sellers to set both minimum and maximum FBA inventory thresholds for their SKUs. This new feature aims to give merchants more direct control over replenishment, helping them keep popular items in stock and avoid unexpected storage fees.

What is AWD auto-replenishment?
AWD is Amazon’s bulk storage solution that distributes your inventory to Amazon’s fulfillment network and select non-Amazon channels. With auto-replenishment enabled, AWD monitors your on-hand and in-transit FBA inventory against your set thresholds. When levels fall below your minimum, Amazon triggers a replenishment shipment automatically, helping to prevent stockouts.

Why Use Inventory Thresholds?
Setting inventory thresholds is particularly beneficial for:
* Products with steady, predictable demand
* Seasonal items
* Newly launched products
* Items sold through Amazon's "Buy with Prime"
* Signature brand items
How to set your minimum and maximum thresholds
1. Navigate to AWD in Seller Central
• Sign in to Seller Central.
• Go to Inventory > Warehousing and Distribution (AWD).
2. Select your SKUs
• Click View inventory or Move inventory.
• Check the boxes next to the SKUs you want to manage.
3. Enable auto-replenishment
• In the FBA replenishment column, choose Auto-replenishment.
• Enter your desired minimum and maximum inventory thresholds.
4. Save and monitor
• Click Apply.
• Review your performance regularly and adjust thresholds as needed.
Benefits and considerations
Improved stock control: Maintain ideal inventory levels for steady-demand and seasonal items.
Reduced manual work: Automate replenishment, freeing up time for other tasks.
Cost responsibility: Note that if you set minimum thresholds, your products will not qualify for storage utilization surcharge waivers or long-term storage fee relief for 90 days.
Additional tips for sellers
Start conservatively: Begin with safety-stock levels slightly above your typical sell-through rate.
Use historical data: Leverage past sales trends to set realistic thresholds.
Combine with promotions: Schedule automatic replenishment ahead of planned sales or Prime Day events.
With this Seller Central update, Amazon sellers gain a simple way to fine-tune their FBA inventory through AWD auto-replenishment. By setting clear minimum and maximum thresholds, merchants can reduce stockouts, optimize storage costs, and stay ahead of customer demand. Regularly review and adjust your thresholds to match changing sales patterns and keep your business running smoothly.
