Amazon UK Gives Sellers More Time to Prepare for Prime Big Deal Days on 6–7 October

Amazon UK sellers have another important opportunity to prepare their promotions, inventory and advertising strategies ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, which returns on 6–7 October 2026. A recent update posted on Seller Central UK outlines several steps sellers can take to improve their chances of generating sales during the two-day Prime shopping event.

Amazon said the deal submission deadline for Best Deals and Lightning Deals has been extended to 22 September. The company is also encouraging sellers to consider Prime Exclusive Discounts, ensure sufficient inventory is available and prepare advertising campaigns ahead of the event.

Prime Big Deal Days is an important early Q4 sales opportunity, arriving ahead of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping period. For sellers, this makes the event useful not only for generating immediate sales but also for testing pricing, advertising and inventory strategies before the peak holiday shopping period.

22 September Deadline for Best Deals and Lightning Deals
According to the Seller Central announcement, sellers have until 22 September to submit Best Deals and Lightning Deals for Prime Big Deal Days. Amazon advises sellers to submit eligible deals as early as possible, as earlier submissions can improve their chances of securing placement during the event.

Sellers should therefore check their Deals dashboard immediately to identify eligible ASINs and review any promotions that still need to be submitted or corrected. Vouchers provide another option for sellers who miss the deadline for Best Deals and Lightning Deals. Amazon said vouchers will remain available through the end of Prime Big Deal Days.

Prime Exclusive Discounts Offer More Flexibility
Prime Exclusive Discounts could be particularly useful for sellers who want greater flexibility in their promotional strategy. According to Amazon, these discounts can be applied to Prime-eligible ASINs that meet the applicable discount requirements. Sellers can submit them up to 12 hours before Prime Big Deal Days ends, without needing to schedule them far in advance.

This means sellers who have not secured a Best Deal or Lightning Deal may still have an opportunity to participate with discounted pricing. Prime Exclusive Discounts can also complement scheduled deals. For example, sellers with several eligible products could use a major deal on a flagship ASIN while using Prime Exclusive Discounts on additional products. Amazon also says deeper discounts may qualify for additional merchandising visibility and could help improve conversion during the event.

Sellers Should Check Promotion Eligibility Before the Event
Eligibility should be checked well before 6 October rather than waiting until the event begins. Amazon’s broader UK peak-season guidance says Prime Exclusive Discounts require a minimum product rating of 3.5 stars for the 2026 peak season. Sellers should also check their individual Seller Central accounts because deal recommendations, eligibility and applicable fees can vary by ASIN and promotion type. Sellers should review their promotion dashboards for warnings, suppressed promotions or pricing problems. Resolving these issues early reduces the risk of a planned promotion failing to go live during the event.

Prime Big Deal Days Discounts Will Not Hurt BF and CM Deal Eligibility
One of the most useful points in the latest Seller Central update concerns Black Friday and Cyber Monday planning. Amazon said promotional prices offered during Prime Big Deal Days will be excluded from the relevant lookback window used for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal eligibility.

This allows sellers to discount eligible products during Prime Big Deal Days without those promotional prices affecting their subsequent BF and CM deal eligibility. The provision could be particularly valuable for sellers planning promotions across multiple Q4 shopping events. They can use Prime Big Deal Days as an October sales opportunity while continuing to prepare eligible promotions for the later holiday shopping period.

Inventory Planning Is Critical
Discounting a product is of little value if the seller cannot keep it in stock. Amazon has advised sellers to make sure inventory is either received or already in transit before Prime Big Deal Days begins. Its broader UK peak-season guidance previously identified 16 September 2026 as the recommended UK inventory arrival date for Prime Big Deal Days. Sellers who shipped inventory later should therefore closely monitor receiving status and available inventory in Seller Central.

FBA sellers should check available quantities, inbound shipments and estimated receiving dates. Sellers should also consider whether their strongest ASINs have enough stock to handle a temporary increase in demand. At the same time, sending excessive inventory solely because of an event can create additional storage costs if sales fall below expectations. Sellers can use recent sales velocity, previous event performance and current advertising data to estimate a more realistic inventory requirement.

Review Advertising Budgets Before 6 October
Amazon UK also recommends considering higher advertising budgets for sellers' best-performing campaigns. Advertising demand and traffic can increase around major shopping events. A campaign that normally has enough daily budget could run out earlier when customer traffic rises.

Sellers should review Sponsored Products and other active campaigns before the event and identify campaigns that already produce profitable sales. Increasing budgets selectively on proven campaigns may be more effective than raising spending across every advertised ASIN. Sellers can also examine search terms, conversion rates, advertising cost of sales and return on ad spend before deciding where additional event spending should go.

Prepare Product Listings Before Traffic Increases
Sellers should use the remaining preparation period to review the detail pages of products they plan to promote. Titles, bullet points, product descriptions, images and A+ Content should accurately explain the product and its benefits. Sellers should also check for listing suppressions, incorrect variations, missing images and other problems that could reduce conversion.

Amazon has previously recommended optimising listings and using compelling A+ Content as part of preparation for major deal events. A discounted price can attract shoppers, but an incomplete or confusing product detail page can still prevent those visits from becoming orders.

Use Prime Big Deal Days as a Q4 Test
Prime Big Deal Days can also provide useful information ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Sellers can monitor which ASINs receive the biggest increase in traffic, which discounts generate stronger conversion, which search terms produce orders and which advertising campaigns remain profitable when competition increases. That data can then help sellers adjust inventory, pricing and advertising strategies for later Q4 events.

Amazon Business sellers may have another option this year. Amazon introduced Amazon Business Deals in the UK and several other marketplaces from 31 August 2026. Eligible products can receive business-customer-specific promotions, and Amazon says qualifying Business Deals may receive additional visibility during major shopping events such as Prime Big Deal Days.

What Sellers Should Do Now
With Prime Big Deal Days scheduled for 6–7 October, sellers should focus first on any eligible Best Deals and Lightning Deals that still require action under the 22 September deadline stated in Amazon's latest Seller Central announcement. The next priorities should be checking Prime Exclusive Discount eligibility, confirming inventory availability, resolving suppressed promotions or listing problems, reviewing advertising budgets and making sure promoted product pages are ready for increased traffic.

Sellers who do not have access to a Best Deal or Lightning Deal should not necessarily sit out the event. Prime Exclusive Discounts and vouchers provide alternative ways to participate, subject to Amazon's eligibility and pricing requirements.

Prime Big Deal Days can therefore serve two purposes for Amazon sellers: generating additional sales in early October and providing valuable performance data before Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Sellers who coordinate promotions, inventory, advertising and listing optimisation are likely to be better positioned to make effective use of the increased shopping activity surrounding the event.

Amazon sellers should check their own Seller Central Deals and Promotions dashboards for ASIN-specific eligibility, fees, deadlines and recommendations before creating or modifying promotions.
