Amazon is encouraging sellers to explore its cross-border shipping solutions through a new educational webinar focused on Amazon Global Logistics (AGL). The announcement, published on Seller Central as part of its ongoing “Webinar Wednesday” initiative, is aimed at helping sellers better understand international freight transportation and supply chain management.

The free live webinar, scheduled for May 20 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, will guide sellers through the process of setting up an Amazon Global Logistics account and using Amazon’s shipping network to move inventory from China and Vietnam to fulfillment centers in the United States, Europe and Japan.

The session is open to sellers of all experience levels and will include a live question-and-answer segment.

Amazon continues to expand seller education efforts
Amazon has been steadily increasing its educational content for marketplace sellers through webinars, training sessions and Seller University resources. These programs are designed to help sellers use Amazon tools more effectively and improve operational efficiency.

The latest webinar focuses on Amazon Global Logistics, a service that allows sellers to manage freight transportation directly within Amazon’s ecosystem. Through AGL, sellers can book ocean freight and air freight shipments while gaining visibility into cargo movement and inventory flow.

According to the Seller Central announcement, all webinar registrants will also receive a recording of the session and presentation materials by email after the event.

What sellers can expect from the webinar
Amazon said the webinar will cover:
• How to set up an Amazon Global Logistics account
• Ocean freight and air freight transportation options
• Shipping routes from China and Vietnam
• Inventory movement to fulfillment centers in the US, EU and Japan
• End-to-end cross-border logistics management
• Live Q&A support for sellers

The webinar may be particularly useful for sellers sourcing products from Asian manufacturing hubs and looking to simplify international shipping operations.

Why Amazon Global Logistics matters
Global shipping has become increasingly important for Amazon sellers, especially those operating through the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) program. Managing international freight can often be complex due to customs requirements, carrier coordination, rising shipping costs and delivery delays.

Amazon Global Logistics aims to simplify this process by integrating transportation services directly into the seller workflow.

Using AGL, sellers can:
• Book shipments within Seller Central
• Track cargo and inventory status
• Reduce coordination with multiple logistics providers
• Improve inventory planning
• Potentially lower shipping complexity and delays

Amazon has also been expanding its logistics infrastructure and freight capabilities globally to support sellers moving inventory into major marketplaces.

Focus on China and Vietnam sourcing
The webinar’s focus on China and Vietnam reflects the growing importance of these countries in global ecommerce manufacturing and sourcing.

Many Amazon sellers source products from suppliers in China, while Vietnam has emerged as a major alternative manufacturing hub in recent years. Rising diversification strategies among ecommerce businesses have increased seller interest in shipping solutions that connect Asian production centers with global Amazon marketplaces.

The webinar may therefore attract both established importers and newer sellers looking to expand internationally.

How sellers can benefit
For new sellers, the webinar could serve as a practical introduction to global freight management and Amazon’s logistics ecosystem. Experienced sellers may also benefit from learning how to streamline operations or reduce friction in supply chain management.

Understanding freight options and inventory movement is becoming more important as sellers try to maintain stock availability while managing costs and delivery timelines.

Sellers who attend may gain useful insights into:
• Choosing between ocean and air freight
• Planning international inventory shipments
• Avoiding stock shortages at fulfillment centers
• Improving supply chain visibility
• Expanding into multiple Amazon marketplaces

Amazon’s continued investment in seller tools and educational programs shows how the company is trying to help merchants scale internationally while using more Amazon-managed logistics solutions.

The Seller Central update also highlights Amazon’s broader strategy of integrating transportation, warehousing and fulfillment into a connected ecosystem for ecommerce sellers. For businesses planning global expansion, the upcoming webinar may offer valuable guidance on navigating international logistics more efficiently.
