Amazon India opens new transshipment facility in Andhra Pradesh

Amazon India announced that it opened a new facility in Andhra Pradesh yesterday, June 20, 2025. The site, code-named RJX1, is now operational and designed to increase capacity and improve delivery efficiency across the network. Sellers on Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) can expect faster inventory movement and stronger regional support as the centre settles into service.
New transshipment centre model
RJX1 operates as a transshipment hub, receiving shipments from other fulfilment centres rather than directly from sellers. Inventory will flow into RJX1 from existing facilities and then be redirected to meet shifting demand. This approach helps Amazon balance stock levels without requiring sellers to send shipments directly to the new location.
Since RJX1 does not accept inbound FBA shipments, you should continue sending inventory to your usual fulfilment centres via Seller Central. Amazon will handle internal transfers to and from RJX1 as needed. There is no change to your current shipping plans or workflows.

GST registration update required
To comply with tax regulations, sellers whose stock may transit through RJX1 must update their GST registration certificates. You need to add the new Andhra Pradesh address as an additional place of business. Promptly updating your certificate will help avoid any hold-ups when Amazon reroutes your inventory through the centre.

The facility is located at Land/Plot No-8, AWSL Logistic Park, APIIC, UDL IDA, IP Expansion, Gurrampalem, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – 531173. Though situated in Visakhapatnam, RJX1 will serve as a key hub for southern and eastern regions, bolstering capacity where it is most needed.
