Amazon Opens Prime-Exclusive Discount Setup for Prime Day 2025
Seller Central now offers a five-step workflow that lets merchants create July-ready deals visible in 27 Amazon storefronts
Amazon has activated a new Seller Central workflow that lets brands and independent merchants set up Prime-exclusive price discounts ahead of Prime Day 2025. The four-day shopping festival, confirmed for July, will span 27 countries, including first-time participants Ireland and Colombia. Last year, Prime Day shoppers bought more than 200 million items from independent sellers, and Amazon says this year’s streamlined discount tool will “build brand awareness among Prime members” even faster.

Prime-exclusive deals typically win higher click-through rates because Prime members see a blue “Prime-exclusive” badge and receive instant shipping assurances. The badge also drives organic ranking during Prime Day’s high-traffic window. With one set-up, the same discounted ASIN can surface across all eligible marketplaces, reducing localisation work for sellers targeting multiple regions.

HOW TO ACTIVATE THE DISCOUNT
Amazon’s Seller Central announcement lays out a clear path:
1. Go to the Advertising tab and select Price Discounts.
2. Click Create a Price Discount.
3. In the Events drop-down, choose Prime Day.
4. Under Audience type, select Prime customers to keep the offer exclusive.
5. Click Step 2: Add products, then follow the prompts to upload SKUs, set discounted prices and schedule start and end dates.
Sellers can apply the promotion to a single ASIN or to a curated set of products. Amazon recommends checking eligibility rules—such as minimum star ratings and price-floor requirements—on the Price Discounts help page before submitting.
GLOBAL REACH IN A SINGLE CLICK
Because 2025’s Prime Day covers Australia, India, the United States, the United Kingdom and 23 other markets, a properly configured discount can appear in 27 storefronts at once. That breadth removes the need to duplicate promotions market by market and allows brands to gauge global demand without extra advertising spend.
KEY DATES AND PREPARATION TIPS
Lock inventory early: Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) inbound deadlines typically fall three to four weeks before Prime Day.
Test pricing: Use the Manage Pricing dashboard to preview margins after the discount is applied.
Refresh creative: Updated images and concise titles increase conversion when the Prime-exclusive badge draws extra traffic.
Monitor performance: The Business Reports tab will track session numbers and conversion rates in real time throughout the four-day sale.
The new Seller Central workflow turns what was once a multi-step, multi-locale task into a quick five-click setup. By activating Prime-exclusive discounts now, sellers can guarantee badge placement, tap into a record-size global audience and ride the momentum that delivered over 200 million seller-fulfilled orders last year. With inventory lined up and pricing tested, merchants stand ready to turn July’s bargain hunt into their own best sales week of 2025.
