Amazon has announced a series of new features for Fulfillment by Merchant sellers through a fresh update on Seller Central. These enhancements give sellers more control over delivery timelines, operational settings and multi-location inventory, helping them offer a smoother and more predictable customer experience. With growing demand for faster deliveries and accurate promises, the update aims to strengthen FBM operations for businesses of all sizes.

Seller-set holidays keep listings visible
One of the most useful improvements is the ability to set holidays without hiding listings. Earlier, sellers had to rely on vacation mode, which temporarily removed products from search results. Now, sellers can mark specific days as holidays in Shipping Settings while keeping their listings active. Amazon automatically adjusts delivery dates based on these inputs, ensuring that customers still see realistic delivery expectations. This makes it easier for small and medium businesses to take planned breaks without losing visibility or sales.

Customised settings for each location
The update adds a new Locations tab under shipping settings. Sellers can now configure separate operating days, carrier pick-up schedules and order cut-off timings for each warehouse, store or dispatch point. This is especially helpful for sellers who operate from multiple locations. When used with Shipping Settings Automation, these details help Amazon display more accurate delivery promises to customers. Clearer cut-off times also reduce late shipments and improve on-time delivery performance.

Greater transparency in delivery date calculations
To help sellers understand how Amazon calculates delivery dates, new columns have been added to FBM order reports. These fields show the exact handling and transit times applied for every order. Sellers can also edit handling times per SKU and per location through the FBM Inventory Manager. This level of transparency helps businesses identify delays more easily and plan staffing and processing more effectively, especially during peak seasons.

Simpler management of multi-location inventory
Managing stock across multiple locations has also become easier. Sellers can now enroll SKUs for multi-location inventory directly through the FBM Inventory Manager and update quantities from the Manage all inventory page. Integrations with providers such as Descartes Sellercloud, Fellowship, Linnworks, SureDone and Etail Solutions allow sellers to sync inventory through their existing systems. Those using APIs or feed files can continue updating data without disruption. The update ensures that sellers avoid overselling and maintain accurate stock levels across all channels.

The new tools are designed to reduce operational gaps that previously caused delays, cancellations or inaccurate delivery promises. For customers, these improvements mean clearer delivery timelines and better availability of products. For sellers, they offer reduced manual work, fewer customer complaints and greater confidence in managing fulfilment independently. With more shoppers choosing fast domestic delivery, FBM sellers stand to benefit from more predictable and efficient operations.

Amazon’s latest Seller Central update for Fulfillment by Merchant sellers introduces practical tools that improve visibility, delivery accuracy and inventory management. By offering more control over holidays, location-based settings and reporting, Amazon aims to help sellers provide a consistent and reliable shopping experience. As online demand continues to rise, these updates ensure that FBM sellers are better equipped to compete and grow in a fast-moving marketplace.
