Over 2 Billion Items Delivered Same or the Next Day, with Selection Growing to 300 Million Items

In a remarkable achievement, Amazon has set new records for Prime delivery speeds in the first three months of 2024, with over 2 billion items delivered to Prime members worldwide. According to Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, this milestone marks a significant improvement from last year's impressive delivery speeds.
Expanding Fast Delivery Across Major Cities
In March alone, nearly 60% of Prime member orders in the top 60 largest U.S. metro areas arrived on the same or the next day. Internationally, cities like London, Tokyo, and Toronto saw three out of four items delivered within the same speedy timeframe. Herrington expressed his enthusiasm for these achievements: "After delivering at our fastest speeds ever in 2023, Amazon set new records for Prime delivery speeds in the first three months of 2024."

A Vast and Growing Selection
Since its inception in 2005, Amazon Prime has dramatically expanded its service offerings. Initially providing free two-day shipping on one million items, the service now boasts over 300 million items eligible for free Prime shipping. Herrington highlighted the growth, saying, "That is over 20 times more products that we can deliver twice as fast compared to when Prime first launched."
Supporting Small Businesses and Major Brands
Amazon's increasing inventory includes a wide range of products from various sectors. The CEO emphasized the platform's role in supporting small businesses and major brands. "We work with independent sellers and small businesses such as U-Simply Season, Bubble-Blooms, and Gifts Fulfilled who offer unique products and great value options," Herrington noted. Additionally, partnerships with well-known brands like Dyson, Levi's, and Stanley and premium labels such as Clinique, Coach, and Peloton underscore Amazon's commitment to providing diverse and high-quality options.
As Amazon continues enhancing its global logistics capabilities, customers can expect even faster shipping times and an ever-expanding product catalog at their doorsteps.
