Amazon UK to Reimburse overcharged Referral Fee to affected Sellers
New Referral Fee for Low-Price Clothing came into effect on May 15

In a recent Seller Central update, Amazon UK announced that it will reimburse the sellers who were overcharged referral fees due to a technical glitch. This announcement is related to the reduced referral fee for Low-Price clothing items, which came into effect on May 15. Amazon UK reduced the referral fee to 8% for products priced below £15 in the UK and equivalent price points in other European countries.
Reduced Referral Fee Details
In our earlier report, we informed you about the new 8% referral fee applied to Clothing and Accessories priced:
- Below £15 in the UK
- Below €15 in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium
- Below PLN 65 in Poland
- Below SEK 175 in Sweden
Previously, Amazon UK charged a 15% referral fee for such products.

Technical Issue Affects Some Sellers
However, Amazon identified a technical problem that caused some products to be incorrectly charged a referral fee of 15% instead of the revised rate of 8%. Amazon is currently investigating the issue and working to resolve it.
Reimbursement for Overcharged Sellers
Amazon has assured sellers that it will soon reimburse the overcharged fees. "We are actively investigating, and we will process the overcharged fee reimbursement for the impacted sales as soon as possible," the announcement stated. Sellers affected by this issue will receive an email notification once the reimbursements have been processed.
How to Check If You Were Affected
Sellers can use Seller Central's Revenue Calculator to confirm whether their products were impacted by the technical issue. This tool will also help sellers identify any discrepancies in the referral fees charged.
