Amazon sellers using discounted courier services for Fulfilment by Amazon shipments should note an upcoming contractual update across five European marketplaces. The Partnered Courier Programme terms and conditions will change in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain on July 31, 2026. The update was posted through Amazon Seller Central. Amazon said the revised terms clarify the respective roles and responsibilities of sellers, participating couriers and Amazon. However, the company confirmed that the changes will not affect how sellers currently use the programme.

No action required from sellers
Sellers are not required to accept a new workflow, change their shipping settings or recreate existing FBA shipments because of the update. Amazon has also indicated that the announcement does not introduce a change to the normal use of the Partnered Courier Programme. Sellers can continue selecting an eligible partnered courier while preparing inbound FBA shipments.

Although no action is required, regular programme users should review the revised terms after they take effect. This can help them understand which party is responsible at each stage of collection, transportation and delivery.

How the Partnered Courier Programme works
The programme enables eligible FBA sellers to send inventory to Amazon fulfilment centres through vetted carriers at discounted transportation rates. Depending on the marketplace and available services, the programme can support small-parcel deliveries as well as palletised less-than-truckload and full-truckload shipments.

During the Send to Amazon workflow, eligible sellers can select an Amazon-partnered carrier, review the estimated transportation charge and complete the required shipment information. For supported parcel shipments, labels can be purchased and printed through the shipment workflow.

Amazon’s guidance says partnered-carrier shipments can provide discounted rates and automated tracking. Actual charges may depend on factors such as the shipment’s origin, destination, number of boxes or pallets, weight and dimensions.

What the clarification means for sellers
The announcement does not say that shipping prices, participating couriers or programme eligibility will change on July 31. Its stated purpose is to clarify contractual responsibilities. Sellers should therefore avoid interpreting the update as a new discount, fee revision or operational expansion unless Amazon issues a separate announcement.

However, clearer terms may help businesses understand responsibility for shipment preparation, carrier handling and Amazon’s role in the programme. This could be particularly useful when investigating delayed collections, damaged inventory, tracking problems or delivery disputes.

Practical checks sellers should continue making
Even though the programme workflow remains unchanged, sellers should maintain accurate shipment records. They should verify box and pallet counts, weights, dimensions, shipping labels and collection details before handing inventory to a courier. Sellers should also retain proof of collection, tracking information and relevant shipment documents.

For cross-border shipments between the UK and the European Union, sellers must continue meeting applicable customs, tax and documentation requirements. Participation in the Partnered Courier Programme does not remove the seller’s responsibility to ensure that goods are prepared and documented correctly.

Why sellers should review the updated terms
Businesses that regularly send large volumes of inventory to fulfilment centres may benefit from comparing partnered-carrier estimates with other available shipping options. This can help them control inbound transportation costs and select a suitable service for each consignment.

Reviewing the new terms will also help sellers update internal procedures and explain responsibilities to warehouse employees, freight coordinators and third-party logistics providers.

Sellers can access the revised document through the Amazon Partnered Courier Terms and Conditions page referenced in the Seller Central announcement. They can also consult Amazon’s Partnered Carrier Programme overview and its guidance for small-parcel deliveries.

The July 31 update is primarily a clarification of the Partnered Courier Programme’s contractual framework in five major European markets. It does not change how sellers use the service, and Amazon has said that no action is required.

Still, sellers who depend on the programme should read the revised terms once available. Understanding the responsibilities of Amazon, the courier and the seller can support better shipment planning, stronger record-keeping and faster handling of inbound delivery problems.
