The countdown to Amazon's busiest shopping season has begun, giving sellers several months to prepare inventory, promotions, and fulfillment strategies. A new Holiday 2026 planning update published on Seller Central provides a comprehensive roadmap covering deal submission windows, promotional fees, inventory deadlines, fulfillment costs, and warehouse planning. While most pricing and eligibility rules remain unchanged from last year, sellers will need to pay close attention to the earlier deadlines to ensure products remain eligible for Prime and are available when demand peaks.

The guidance is designed to help sellers avoid inventory shortages, manage costs more effectively, and maximize sales opportunities during Prime Big Deal Days, Black Friday Week, and Cyber Monday.

Prime Big Deal Days and holiday event schedule
According to the update shared on Seller Central, Prime Big Deal Days will return during the same period as last year to officially kick off Amazon's holiday shopping season. The event will be followed by Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday, giving sellers multiple opportunities to increase sales before the year-end holidays. Amazon has already opened the deal submission window for all major shopping events.

Deal submission deadlines
Sellers can now begin submitting promotional offers for Holiday 2026.

The submission periods are:
Prime Big Deal Days
July 8 to September 8, 2026

Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday
July 8 to October 20, 2026

Amazon is also bringing back its early submission incentive. Sellers who submit Prime Big Deal Days promotions by August 5 will receive a 50-dollar discount on the upfront promotion fee. For Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday, the discounted submission deadline is September 5.

Promotion fees remain unchanged
One of the biggest advantages for sellers this year is pricing stability. Amazon confirmed that promotion fees and eligibility requirements remain the same as those introduced during Prime Day.

For Best Deals, Lightning Deals, and Prime Exclusive Price Discounts, sellers will pay:
i) An upfront fee of 100 dollars per promotion.
ii) A variable fee of 1.5 percent of promotional sales, capped at 5,000 dollars.

Amazon has also clarified that promotional prices offered during Prime Big Deal Days will not count toward the 30-day or 60-day price lookback period used to determine maximum deal prices for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday. This gives sellers greater pricing flexibility across multiple shopping events.

Holiday fulfillment fees remain consistent
Seller Central also confirms that holiday peak fulfillment fees will once again apply from October 15, 2026, through January 14, 2027.

The fee schedule covers:
i) Fulfillment by Amazon
ii) Remote Fulfillment with FBA
iii) Multi-Channel Fulfillment
iv) Buy with Prime

Holiday peak fees will increase by the same per-unit amount as last year, averaging approximately 32 cents per unit above standard fulfillment rates.

In addition, the existing 3.5 percent fuel and logistics surcharge will continue to apply.

To help sellers estimate profitability, updated holiday fulfillment rates are already available through Amazon's Revenue Calculator, Profit Analytics Dashboard, and Fee and Economics Preview Report.

Critical inventory deadlines
i) Inventory planning will be one of the most important factors for Holiday 2026 success.
ii) Amazon recommends ensuring inventory reaches its fulfillment network before the following deadlines.

Prime Big Deal Days
September 2 for Amazon Warehousing and Distribution shipments.
September 9 for FBA shipments using Minimal Shipment Splits.
September 16 for FBA shipments using Amazon-Optimized Shipment Splits, which is the option selected by most sellers.

Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday

October 14 for Amazon Warehousing and Distribution shipments.
October 21 for FBA shipments using Minimal Shipment Splits.
October 28 for FBA shipments using Amazon-Optimized Shipment Splits.

Missing these deadlines could reduce Prime eligibility and impact product availability during peak shopping events.

Capacity planning becomes more important
i) Amazon advises sellers to send inventory as early as possible.
ii) During September and October, fulfillment centers prioritize receiving inbound inventory.
iii) Once November and December arrive, warehouse operations shift toward processing customer orders, which can reduce inbound receiving capacity.
iv) Early shipments improve the likelihood that products will be available when shoppers begin placing holiday orders.

Amazon Warehousing and Distribution offers additional advantages
Seller Central also highlights Amazon Warehousing and Distribution as an effective inventory planning solution for businesses expecting strong holiday demand.

AWD allows sellers to store bulk inventory at lower-cost facilities while Amazon automatically replenishes FBA fulfillment centers as inventory is needed.

According to Amazon, sellers who enrolled in AWD during the fourth quarter of 2025 experienced:
i) More than 13 percent growth in shipped units.
ii) Over 30 percent fewer out-of-stock days during the holiday quarter.

Amazon also notes that sellers using AWD with automatic replenishment to FBA will continue paying off-peak monthly storage rates through October 31, 2026, providing additional cost savings before holiday demand accelerates.

Capacity Manager offers another option
Sellers anticipating unusually high holiday sales can also use Capacity Manager to bid for additional fulfillment center capacity.

This provides more flexibility for businesses expecting significant inventory growth beyond their standard storage limits.

Key takeaways for sellers
i) Holiday 2026 preparation should begin well before the shopping season starts.
ii) Submitting deals early can reduce promotional costs.
iii) Shipping inventory ahead of published deadlines improves Prime eligibility.
iv) Monitoring holiday fulfillment fees helps sellers maintain pricing accuracy.
v) Using AWD and Capacity Manager can help prevent stock shortages while lowering storage costs.

Reviewing profitability through Amazon's planning tools allows sellers to make informed inventory decisions before demand increases.

The Holiday 2026 planning update on Seller Central provides sellers with a clear roadmap for one of the most important sales periods of the year. Although promotion fees, eligibility requirements, and holiday fulfillment charges remain largely unchanged, the earlier planning deadlines mean sellers must begin preparing sooner than ever.

Businesses that organize inventory early, submit deals before discount deadlines, and make strategic use of Amazon Warehousing and Distribution and Capacity Manager will be better positioned to maintain Prime availability, reduce out-of-stock risks, and maximize sales throughout Prime Big Deal Days, Black Friday Week, Cyber Monday, and the broader holiday shopping season.
