Maximize Your Sales: Amazon Advises Sellers to Leverage Brand Tailored Promotions for Black Friday and Cyber Monday
In anticipation of the upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday events, Amazon has issued a recommendation to its e-commerce sellers on its Seller-Central platform. The e-commerce giant is encouraging sellers to make the most of its Brand Tailored Promotions (BTP) feature to capitalize on the expected surge in site traffic.
A Closer Look at Brand Tailored Promotions:
While BTP isn't a new feature, its potential during high-traffic sales events is significant. Brand Tailored Promotions allow brands to craft exclusive promotional codes, offering discounts ranging from 10% to 50%. These codes are tailored for a brand's followers, potential customers, and those who have previously made purchases. The core benefits of BTP include:
1. Attracting New Customers: By leveraging the influx of shoppers during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, brands can draw in new customers who show interest in their products.
2. Converting Prospects: Brands can entice potential customers, such as those who've abandoned their carts, with exclusive discounts.
3. Re-engaging Past Customers: BTP serves as a tool for brands to reconnect with previous customers, ensuring they remain engaged and loyal.

Amazon has also highlighted that the list of eligible customers is refreshed weekly, allowing brands to target newly acquired customers with subsequent promotions. These promotions are prominently displayed on search, detail, and promotion shopping pages. However, it's worth noting that each promotion can only be redeemed once per customer. For activation, each audience segment should have at least 1,000 customers.
Feedback from the Seller Community:
While Amazon is pushing for using BTP, the feature has received mixed feedback from sellers. One seller voiced concerns about overlapping promotions, remarking, "But won't they stack on your other promotions running those days? It's challenging to offer the best discounts without losing money per sale."
Another seller pinpointed a potential limitation with the feature, noting a checkbox that implies promotions apply to all detail pages. This broad application means that the coupon becomes universally available when targeting specific segments. The seller expressed, "Offering 50% coupons to all customers while trying to target a specific group isn't what we signed up for. When will we be able to uncheck this box?"
Amazon has not yet responded to these issues raised by the sellers.

In Summary
As Black Friday and Cyber Monday approach, Amazon's emphasis on Brand Tailored Promotions underscores its potential to boost sales and customer engagement. However, for the feature to be universally embraced, Amazon may need to address the concerns raised by its seller community.
