Amazon Expands "You Buy. We Donate." Campaign
Initiative aims to combat hygiene poverty across the UK with renewed donation drive.
Amazon has relaunched its impactful "You Buy. We Donate." campaign, focusing on alleviating hygiene poverty across the UK. The campaign, running until June 30, 2025, allows customers to contribute directly to charity simply by purchasing everyday hygiene essentials.

How the Campaign Works
Under the "You Buy. We Donate." initiative, Amazon and its supplier partners commit to donating one hygiene product to the Multibank charity for every two eligible items purchased by shoppers on Amazon.co.uk. This donation comes at no extra cost to customers.
The campaign initially launched in January 2025, and within its first run, successfully donated more than 200,000 essential hygiene products through the Multibank network.

Tackling Hygiene Poverty
Hygiene poverty remains a significant issue in the UK, highlighted by recent research commissioned by Amazon:

* Over 8 million essential items have been distributed by Multibanks.
* More than 600,000 UK families have benefited from these donations.
Participating in the Campaign
To participate, shoppers simply need to look for the "Buy 2, Donate 1" link on eligible product pages on Amazon.co.uk. Customers can find detailed information about eligible products and further campaign specifics on the dedicated initiative landing page.
What are Multibanks?
Multibanks are innovative, community-focused hubs providing essential goods such as clothing, bedding, baby products, and hygiene items to families in need. Co-founded in 2022 by Amazon and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, these hubs effectively connect surplus products from businesses directly with local charities, social workers, and community groups.
* There are six active Multibanks nationwide, including locations in the West Midlands and Manchester.
* The Multibank network has distributed over 5 million goods since its inception.
* Prominent supporting companies include Accrol, Heinz, INEOS, Morrisons, PepsiCo, Poundland, Sofidel, Tesco, and Unilever.
Sustaining the Multibank Network
Amazon and Comic Relief have also established the Multibank Fund, committing £6 million over four years to support and scale these vital community services, ensuring long-term sustainability and enhanced support for families in need.
Official Statement
Eugenie Teasley, UK’s Head of Impact at Amazon, emphasized the importance of community action:
“We know families across the country are facing incredibly tough times, and we want to help. Working closely with The Multibank and other businesses, we’ve been able to donate over 8 million essential products to more than 600,000 families, but we know there’s much more to do. This summer’s You Buy. We Donate. campaign is an opportunity for shoppers to easily make a difference, simply by buying their everyday products. Together, we look forward to donating even more items and helping thousands more families get the support they deserve.”
The "You Buy. We Donate." campaign highlights a powerful example of corporate and community collaboration, directly addressing hygiene poverty while promoting a more circular and responsible economy.
With this renewed effort, Amazon continues its pledge to help communities across the UK, encouraging customers to join hands in this meaningful mission.
