In a significant move towards inclusive growth, Amazon India has teamed up with Youth4Jobs Foundation to empower women with disabilities, helping them flourish in India's expanding digital marketplace. According to an official blog, this collaboration leverages Amazon's Saheli program, a dedicated initiative supporting women entrepreneurs, to offer practical solutions and business growth opportunities.

Support and Training for Entrepreneurial Success
Through this partnership, women with disabilities will receive comprehensive training and resources crucial for thriving in the digital e-commerce space. The initiative includes detailed workshops and guidance on critical business skills like digital marketing, product listing optimization, advertising, and performance marketing.

These women entrepreneurs will also benefit from dedicated onboarding assistance and ongoing account management support, simplifying their journey in establishing and expanding their online businesses. Additionally, Amazon will provide data-driven insights, helping sellers better understand customer behavior and current market trends.

Commenting on the significance of this partnership, Gaurav Bhatnagar, Director of Sales at Amazon India, stated, "We recognise the potential of women entrepreneurs in strengthening India's digital economy. Our collaboration with Youth4Jobs aims to support women with disabilities by providing them with the tools and opportunities to build successful businesses on our e-commerce platform. We believe this initiative will contribute to creating a more inclusive digital marketplace."

Empowering Vulnerable Groups at the Grassroots Level
Youth4Jobs Foundation, committed to creating resilient livelihood opportunities for youth, particularly women with disabilities, sees this collaboration as a step toward economic independence and social recognition for these women. Founder Meera Shenoy emphasized the broader social impact, saying, "Our collaboration with Amazon Saheli is aligned with our commitment towards building resilient livelihoods for youth, specifically women with disabilities. By providing them access to online marketplaces and upskilling opportunities, we aim to make them not only self-dependent but also significant contributors to the digital economy."

The partnership specifically targets attitudinal barriers and aims to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of marginalized women, empowering them within their families and communities. Shenoy added that strategic partnerships, like the one with Amazon, are crucial for reaching and economically empowering vulnerable groups at scale.

Amazon Saheli: Championing Women Entrepreneurs
Since its inception in 2017, Amazon Saheli has focused on promoting products from women-led businesses and enhancing their visibility in the digital marketplace. The program now collaborates with over 60 partners, benefiting more than 16 lakh women entrepreneurs across urban and rural India. Around 80,000 women artisans actively participate, marketing thousands of products across categories like apparel, jewellery, and groceries.

This collaborative effort between Amazon India and Youth4Jobs underscores a meaningful step toward creating an inclusive economy where women with disabilities can actively participate and succeed in the digital marketplace. Amazon’s continued dedication towards empowering women entrepreneurs, complemented by Youth4Jobs' grassroots impact, promises a future where economic empowerment is both accessible and sustainable for all women.
