Amazon introduces Image Manager to track product image sources
New Seller Central feature shows who supplied each product image and whether it is live

Amazon has introduced a clearer way for sellers to track and manage the images that appear on their product detail pages. The update, announced on Seller Central, adds labels and origin details inside Image Manager so sellers can quickly see which images are live and where each image came from. The aim is to reduce confusion when multiple sellers contribute images for the same ASIN and to improve the shopping experience with better quality visuals.
Transparency in image sourcing
Until now, it was often difficult for sellers sharing the same ASIN to determine whose images were live on a product detail page. With the new Image Manager, Amazon makes it easier by clearly marking images as either Live or Not live. Sellers can now hover over an information icon to see the origin of a non-live image. The source will be identified as either a merchant under the seller’s partner account, a vendor under the seller’s partner account, or another selling partner altogether.

Improved account management
Amazon’s update provides sellers with increased control and visibility across multiple accounts. Sellers will receive details such as account numbers and merchant tokens, allowing them to manage and resolve issues quickly. This feature also helps protect brand integrity by ensuring sellers can better track which images are being displayed to customers.
Customer experience focus
Amazon has emphasized that the images displayed on product detail pages are selected to align with its product image requirements, prioritizing those that offer the best shopping experience. By ensuring sellers have more insight into image usage, the platform strengthens quality control and enhances trust with shoppers.
How sellers can use the tool
To take advantage of this update, sellers can go to Image Manager in Seller Central. The tool also includes options for uploading new images, ensuring compliance with Amazon’s guidelines and improving product presentation. Sellers who manage multiple ASINs or operate across several accounts will find this particularly useful in streamlining their image management process.
Amazon’s Image Manager update brings much needed clarity to image ownership and display on shared ASINs. With live status labels and clear origin information, sellers can quickly diagnose issues, coordinate with partners, and publish better visuals. Shoppers benefit from higher quality, more trustworthy images that support confident buying decisions. For sellers, the message is simple. Check Image Manager, fix what is not live, and keep galleries compliant and consistent.
