Amazon UK Sellers to Get In-Month VAT Reports From 3 November
Earlier access and new tracking fields will help sellers review transactions sooner and identify changes to downloaded reports

Amazon sellers will soon be able to review VAT transaction data during the current month, giving them more time to check records and prepare their accounts. Starting 3 November 2026, the Amazon VAT Transactions Report (AVTR) will become available without the usual wait until the third day of the following month.
The update, published on Seller Central under the title “Access your VAT Transactions Report anytime”, also introduces two columns to help sellers track transaction updates and identify government-issued e-invoice numbers.

Earlier access comes with a three-day gap
Under the new arrangement, sellers can request an AVTR during the month, covering dates up to three days before the request date. For example, a report requested on 15 November could cover data through 12 November. Sellers should therefore account for the three-day gap when comparing the report with more recent business activity.
The practical benefit is an earlier opportunity to review records. Sellers and their accounting teams can begin checking transactions during the month, potentially reducing the reconciliation work left until month-end.

Previously downloaded periods can be refreshed
A downloaded report may change if Amazon processes additional data for the same period. Sellers can request that date range again to obtain the latest available version. Amazon’s supporting guidance explains that each download reflects the data available when the report is generated. It also advises sellers and their tax advisers to determine when the information is ready for VAT reporting. Earlier access should therefore support ongoing checks, rather than be treated as confirmation that a period’s records are final.
New column helps identify updated transactions
The new TRANSACTION_UPDATED_DATE column records when Amazon last processed a transaction, using a UTC date. Sellers can download the same period again and inspect this field for more recent dates. This provides a way to identify records that need another review following an earlier download.
For businesses using spreadsheets or accounting software, a useful preparation step is to check whether their import templates accept the additional columns. Keeping dated copies of downloads can also help teams compare versions. Refreshed reports should be reconciled carefully to avoid counting the same transactions twice.
Government invoice field initially covers Poland
The second new column, GOV_INVOICE_ID, contains the government-assigned e-invoice identifier. Amazon says the field is currently populated only for transactions covered by Poland’s KSeF e-invoicing system. Other countries will be supported later, although the announcement gives no expansion timetable.
Amazon’s field guidance confirms that the column is left blank where a government e-invoicing system does not apply. Sellers should therefore not assume that an empty field indicates a missing invoice number for a UK transaction.
How sellers can download the report
To access AVTR, sign in to Seller Central, open Reports and select Fulfilment by Amazon. Find the Tax section in the left-hand menu, then select Amazon VAT Transactions Report. Choose the required date range and request a CSV or TXT download. Once the report has been generated, download the file for review.
Amazon’s guidance allows a maximum of 93 consecutive days per report. Sellers needing a longer period can generate separate reports for consecutive date ranges.
Check transaction dates when reconciling records
Earlier availability does not remove the need to understand how AVTR assigns transactions to reporting periods. Amazon explains that goods transactions are included according to their completion date, recorded in TRANSACTION_COMPLETE_DATE. For a sale, this is the shipment date. For a refund, it is the date the refund completes.
An order placed on 31 October but dispatched on 1 November would therefore appear in November’s AVTR. This can explain differences between AVTR and reports organised by order date or payment activity. Sellers should also check availability in their accounts when the change takes effect. While the Seller Central announcement specifies 3 November, the supporting live-update help page still describes the feature as a gradual beta rollout.
More time to review and prepare
For Amazon UK sellers, the update offers a practical opportunity to spread bookkeeping checks across the month. Earlier downloads can help teams investigate discrepancies sooner, while the new update-date field makes refreshed records easier to review.
Sellers who prepare their import templates, retain dated downloads and agree a reconciliation routine with their accountant will be better placed to benefit from the change. The main advantage is more timely access to information and more time to act on it before completing their reporting.
