AmazonUK Updates Condition Guidelines for Consumable, Ingestible, and Topical Products

By Staff Writer

AmazonUK has announced a significant update to the condition guidelines for consumable, ingestible, and topical products sold on its platform. The announcement, made on the Seller Central platform, is aimed at ensuring that these products meet customer expectations and align closely with their product images.

Key Highlights of the Policy Update

Security Tag Restrictions: The updated policy mandates that consumable, ingestible, and topical products must not be sold with any attached electronic security tags, stickers, or devices. This includes RF or RFID tags and acousto-magnetic stickers.

Condition Requirements: Products in categories such as Beauty, Food & Grocery, Health Care, and Vitamins & Dietary Supplements must be listed in New condition. To qualify as New, items must be unused, in original packaging, and prepared, packaged, sealed, and labelled appropriately to prevent contamination, spoiling, melting, and damage.

Prohibitions on Used Items: Products cannot be listed as New if they have been used, show signs of use or damage, were intended for destruction or disposal, or were designated as unsellable by the manufacturer or any supplier, vendor, or retailer.

Guidance for Sellers

Refer to Specific Help Pages: Sellers are encouraged to consult the Food & Beverage, Drug & Drug paraphernalia, Grocery, and Dietary Supplements help pages for more information on how to list these items.

Categories Requiring Approval: Sellers may be required to obtain approval to list certain products. Sellers should check the 'Categories Requiring Approval' section for more information.

This update is part of Amazon's ongoing efforts to maintain high standards for the products sold through its platform and to enhance customer trust and satisfaction. Sellers are advised to review these changes in detail and adjust their listings accordingly to comply with the new guidelines.
