Amazon has announced on Seller Central a timely reminder for sellers to prepare their inventory ahead of the upcoming holiday sales season. The company is encouraging sellers to use Amazon Outlet to move slow-moving or excess stock, allowing them to better focus on promoting their bestselling products during peak demand.

Why Amazon Outlet matters during holiday sales
Holiday sales are one of the busiest times of the year, and sellers often face the challenge of balancing stock levels. Amazon Outlet provides a way to clear space in warehouses by offering special deals on slow-moving items. This not only frees up storage but also helps improve cash flow before the season’s biggest sales events.

Eligibility requirements for Amazon Outlet
To participate in Amazon Outlet, sellers must meet certain criteria. They need to have a professional selling plan, an overall customer rating of at least 4 stars, and products that qualify under Amazon’s Outlet guidelines. These requirements ensure that customers receive quality deals while maintaining seller credibility.

How to create an Outlet deal
Sellers can set up an Outlet deal by following a few simple steps on Seller Central. First, navigate to the Inventory tab and select FBA Inventory. Then use the Recommendation filter and choose Create outlet deal. Under the Recommended action column, click Create outlet deal, review the suggested price, and ensure it is equal to or lower than the maximum allowed. Once satisfied, sellers can submit the deal for approval.

Extra benefits of Outlet deals
Running Outlet deals can help boost visibility for older stock that might otherwise go unnoticed. With millions of buyers browsing holiday discounts, sellers can turn slow inventory into new sales opportunities. In addition, sellers can avoid long-term storage fees by clearing products before they accumulate in warehouses.

The Seller Central announcement highlights the importance of inventory planning for the holiday season. By using Amazon Outlet, sellers can reduce slow-moving stock, improve cash flow, and put their focus on products that perform best during peak demand. With simple setup steps and clear eligibility rules, this feature offers a practical way to maximize sales potential in the busiest shopping period of the year.
